Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

My Review...

So this book was super Dark but yet super powerful. Normally not a big fan of stockholm type books but C.J. Roberts is a genius writer. Even though the content seems so wrong you heart bleeds for Livvie and Caleb.  It's crazy when you feel your body betray with a physiological response of feeling good when something that is so wrong is happening to you.  Livvie's poor psyche when she is being tortured yet her body is having a positive response. And while this is happening she starts to develop feelings for her captor.  I can't even imagine what that would feel like.

During the whole book you feel the development of the feelings for one another yet their past histories and way of thinking keeps getting in the way.

Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet #2)

by
BOOK TWO OF THE DARK DUET
The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.

What is the price of redemption?

Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.

The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.

Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?

Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

Quote:
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie

My Review...

This Dark tale starts off with Livvie getting free and we start to see what happened to her through stories and memories. In this book we also get to meet some more key players like Rafiq and new players like Agent Reed and Sloan.

Through these tales you start to see that she truly loves Caleb for Caleb and not for Stockholm's.  While she was recovering from her horrendous attack from the bikers you see the caring of Caleb for his kitten.

During this book some major revelations come to fore front and you start to understand why Caleb was the way he was more then in the first book. It breaks your heart when you find out that he was just part of a terrible plan and was caught in the middle of someone else's crazy.

While you are finding out about all what happened with the capture and the past you see Livvie coming to turns with who she is supposed to be and not who people want her to be. While at the same time you are so sad with her loss of Caleb.

The end of Livvie and Caleb needed to happen so there could be new beginnings in the future for other.

I loved this ending. I thought it was a light and perfect ending to a very dark story.

5 Still Very Dark Thumbs Up!
