The sexy second installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy, following If I Were You—in the seductive tradition of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the lost journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.

In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but not before his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca, but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?

My Review...

Finally book two in this trilogy now the trick is doing a spoiler free review because this series is just plain awesome and it is something that you need to experience without having it ruined.

In this book there were a lot of answers given which really surprised me because I thought for sure they would be carried out until the next book but NOPE that was so not the case and let me tell you the answers totally surprised me.  I did not see it coming at all.  I knew that people were obviously key players in this drama but I was not sure how they all fit together.

Reading this book it was like two stories going on at once but blending in at the same time.  You had the whole where is Rebecca thing going on and who is her bloody master.

While at the same time you have the evolution and journey of Sara and Chris.  With Chris who is so domineering and beautiful but yet you get to feel is brokenness seep out of his pores at the same time.

So many secrets are kept which causes so much friction between all the players and raising so many more questions.

However together Sara and Chris just make sense. There is a harmonious yet vulnerability about their relationship.

Even though many themes were answered and we are not left with another killer cliffhanger so many new questions were brought up keeping a strong hold of this series.

Lisa Renee Jones has a gift at keeping you in suspense while dangling the carrot and adding just enough lust, love and passion into the mix.  Often in a series book two can be a let down and it turns out to be more like a bridge book but that was so NOT the case here book two was just as good as book 1 just different.
