Remember Me Not, My Love

by

When Terry turned eighteen, he would end up homeless and alone, abandoned by family and friends for being gay. Though it took him years, he found his feet again.

Then a man from his past knocks him right back down again, dredging up a memory of the time Terry stood by and did nothing as that same man was assaulted for being gay, driving home to Terry that he will never be worthy of friendship or family. But the man who brought back the past is also the person most willing to fight for their future.

My Remember Me Not, My Love Review...

So I liked the premise or idea of this story but at times it fell short for me.  It could be because it was a novella, so there wasn't enough to build which made the story happen way to fast and with not enough time for me to fully connect with the characters.

Terry was once a spoiled rich boy who had it all until he came out of the closet.  Now after his family kicks him out he became homeless and is just starting to get on his feet when he comes face to face with his past.

Ishmael was a young boy who had a rough life living in a trailer park and suffering from neglect as well as the hatred for being gay.  After a brutal beating from Terry's friends he leaves that town and moves on, so when he comes face to face with his past it brings up all kind of things for him.

Ishmael is not happy to see Terry again after he did nothing to help, but once he realizes why Terry let it happened he then tries to be the bigger person knowing that Terry has also run into some bad luck.  After realizing that they are more similar than they both realized they quickly become friends then all of a sudden they are BOOM in love and forever.

Like I said I liked the idea but the growth of the connection was slowly happening between the two and then, all of a sudden it was all unicorns and rainbows and it was done.

I do normally like novellas but they can be give or take with their length.  More often then not though novella's run the chance of the story escalating to quickly and this book does fall into that category.

3 Sweet but too fast thumbs up!
