Love After All (Hope #4)

by

In the latest novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Hope Burns, a woman discovers that the man she least expects is exactly what she needs…

High school math teacher Chelsea Gardner has the perfect plan. She’s tired of dating all the wrong men, and after years of frustration, she’s developed a foolproof list of requirements for finding “The One.”

Bar owner Sebastian “Bash” Palmer finds Chelsea beautiful, smart and fun, but he thinks her list is ridiculous and unnecessary. Intent on proving Chelsea is looking for love in all the wrong ways, he offers to help her find the “perfect” man.

Chelsea knows Bash isn’t the right guy for her—he barely meets one of her criteria—but there’s something about the charismatic man that has her yearning for things that are most definitely not list approved.

Because sometimes, a relationship that looks totally wrong on paper can turn out incredibly right…

My Love After All Review ...

I have to admit that this series is a hit and a miss for me.  There are parts that I love and their are others that drive me bat shit crazy.  I adore Jaci Burton so I keep giving it a try.  In Love After All we finally get Bash's story and I couldn't wait but ... then we get a daft list and predictability and I'm left wanting so much more.

Chelsea has dated and dated to no success.  So, she decided to right a list of the perfect guy.  And of course Bash didn't meet any point on the list but their was chemistry.

This kiss might have been hot and she might still be thinking about how it made her feel, but feelings weren't always logical.  Her list, however was.  (Insert eye roll here.  I knew from this it was going to lead to a very predictable story line)

For Bash he lives the motto of once burned.  Which causes him to date but not fall in love, but there is something different about Chelsea.  But to get Chelsea's attention he has to fight her stupid logical list.
Her list was moronic.  You didn't find the person you were meant to be with by making a list.  It just ... happened.  (Agreed)
I have to admit stubborn heroines are NOT my fave.  And Chelsea and that damn list. Argh!

But he didn't fit the parameters of her list.  So this had to be wrong.  Right? (This effing list is driving me mad.  Argh! I'm not a big fan of daft woman)

She had tons of chemistry with Bash plus he has been her friend for ages but she keeps him at arms length because of her damn list.  Finally Bash convinces her to give them a go.  With this they both fall but their stubbornness and daftness get in the way causing them unnecessary heart ache.  But finally love wins over the list.  Phew! Otherwise I would have had to possibly throw out my kindle.

This story was cute but too predictable.  When I was reading it at times it felt like I was reading a journal with a play by play of actions instead of being able to get lost into the story.  In the end I liked elements of it, especially Bash.  How can you not love a tough strong guy with a chihuahua?  But the rest left me wanting more instead of frustration and predictability.

2.5 Predictable Thumbs up!

thumbs upthumbs up . 5
