My Unexpected Rush Review . . .

It's not a secret that sports romance are one of my guilty pleasures, and the Play by Play series was one of my first sport romance series that got me hooked on this genre.  But at times I think this series may be done.  Sure there are more characters that could be explored but its becoming too predictable, too repetitive, and a bit unforgettable making it done.   I read this book a week ago and I was about to write this review, but it took me quite awhile to bring the characters and story back to the forefront of my mind.  Sadly that makes it fall into the unforgettable side of things since I only read it a week ago.

"Your choice.  But I think it's going to blow up in your face."

Once I finally remembered what the story was about.  I recalled it being pretty decent but too predictable.  Barrett Cassidy is another one who is part of a sports legacy family.  He's one of many brothers who are all professional athletes, as well as a father who was also a pro-athlete.  For the most part they are mainly football players, except for his twin who is a MLB player.

Barrett's all about family, loyalty and football, so when he starts to fancy his best friend and fellow player's little sister he feels torn.  Now Harmony doesn't care about the bro code or sports code.  She's a strong woman and goes after what she wants.  And Barrett is what she wants.  She pulls no punches with this endeavor, so when she finally wins she should be ecstatic but instead she's let down since Barrett wants to keep their affair a secret.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?  Secrets have a tendency to explode in your face at the worst possible time,  Barrett."  (Fair warning. Too bad he didn't listen to that advice)

We all know keeping secrets is going to blow up in your face.  And blow up it did.  I liked the premise of the story especially since I'm always sweet on stories involving the friend's little sister, but the actual story wasn't quite as good as the idea of the story.  Harmony was strong willed and independent which I usually like but at times she came across is more stubborn than strong.

"You know, I get that you're all female empowered and all that shit, and I have no doubt you can move mountains on your own.  But it's still okay to ask for help if you need it."

Now the sex was hot for these two and I know its fiction but come on, NO ONE orgasms that much. NO ONE!!!! Which makes it more unbelievable than believable at times in that department.  If there was more from this series, would I read it?  Yes, as I'm one of those people who once you start something I need to finish it.  Did I like Barrett and Harmony together?  Yes for the most part.  There a few things that bugged me but otherwise they were good.   Would I read more from this author?  Yes, just because I think this series may be done, doesn't make me dislike the author at all.  Everything has a time and sometimes it run its course.   However, Penguin is giving an AMAZING Giveaway this time and if you want to read the whole series here is your chance.   Link is above the review.

3 Secrets will always blow up in your face thumbs up!
