My Love, Chloe Review . . .

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I freakin' adore Alessandra Torre so I said SIGN ME UP!!!! And I'm so happy that I did.  It was such a refreshing change of format and story set up that I loved it.

Chloe Madison was once the it girl but in a New York Minute she was all of a sudden nothing.  Now she has to learn how to survive and find herself at the same time.  At first Chloe was a rich snob but this new reality changed her.  And for the better.

Better to risk my safety on a dim New York street than my heart to a blue-collar stranger.

For me, at first Chloe's character didn't come across endearing but understandable because she knows no different.  With her journey we get to see her change and start to like her more and more.  The way she went through these changes made her more real and relatable.

This was a journey of a girl who finds her true self through her trials and tribulations navigating through New York City.  It's not easy for Chloe from being rich to working for the rich.  I loved the fact that her besties stayed true to her during this time, as so many rich besties are superficial and not real.  If she didn't have them it would have been a totally different story for poor Chloe.

The way the story was set up with super short chapters, which I loved by the way, totally made the story.  It was such a great way to transition her journey and move the story along without overkill of information.  It also combined social media along her journey where we get to see where she's at through her posts, keeping the story fresh and relevant.

With money things came to easy for Chloe making her judge situations or people.  Where someone like Carter never would have caught her eye when she was wealthy and she would have ended up with someone like Vic.  Thankfully she gets to see the true Carter and fall for him and not what he's worth or the lifestyle that accompanies that wealth.

When I was little, my mom told me you should find a man who loved you more than you loved him. That way, she explained, you would never get hurt.  In theory, it made sense.  But now, I believed half of the beauty of love was in the loving.

I thought all the characters were great and brought so many facets to the story.  You either loved or hated the characters or somewhere in between.  I loved her friends, and Joey.  I hated her parents and your heart hurt for what they did to Chloe.  With the other characters like Nicole you loved and hated her but every single one added to this story.

This story is ttechnically a love story, but truth be told that was really secondary to this story.  The real story was about Chloe and her finding her self and loving herself.  Once you can love yourself its way easier to fall in love with someone else.  I loved her and Carter but I did find their feelings escalate a bit quickly at times but that didn't take away too much from the story.
Adored the story! LOVED the set up of the story! LOVED the refreshing format! Loved the short chapters! Adored Chloe! Adored Carter!

4 Solid New York loving thumbs up!
