Tempting Tristan is a stand-alone M/M romance featuring two sexy, lovable alpha heroes.

TRISTAN AND ALEX

Fresh off the heels of yet another bad relationship, Tristan Brewer is taking a break from men to try to figure out where he keeps going wrong. He knows his biggest faultóhe leads with his heart, not his headóand that's never going to change. But after several introspective weeks, he's beginning to get a handle on things. That is, until badass heartthrob Alex Wells walks into his bar...

Alex has spent eight years in the army, months in a hospital bed, and far too long hiding his sexual identity. He's guilt-ridden, damaged, pissed off, and up for a Silver Star for the incident that nearly cost him his lifeóand kept him from his grandmother's funeral. But all he wants to do is live the life he's always dreamed of and forget his stint with the institution that allows but doesn't necessarily accept.

The chemistry between Tristan and Alex ignites from the moment they meet, and the more time they spend together, the hotter the flames burn. But the closer they become, the more Alex's walls go up, and when the two walk onto a military base, Tristan finds out Alex's physical scars aren't the ones that run the deepest.

Part 3 of a series, but can be read as a Standalone

My Tempting Tristan Review . . .

Let's start  with a few things.   1) This was my first Melissa Foster book.  I have heard so many amazing things about Melissa, and I have downloaded so many books but haven't read any yet.  So when given this opportunity I jumped at the opportunity.  2) This book is technically part three in a series but can be read as a standalone.  Because of that and the fact that it was a MM romance which is a huge guilty pleasure for me, it was yet another reason to read it.

I was hooked into wanting to read this story when I found out it was going to be not one sexy loveable alpha but TWO of them.  How could I not read the book after that tasty tidbit.

I was able to read this book as a standalone but I do feel like I was missing some elements reading it as a standalone.  I feel like I could have gotten deeper into the story or fallen in love with the series more if I read it in order.  However, that was not the case this time around for me.

Tristan Brewer, is living the motto of once burnt, which means he's going through the motions of life but not truly living.  Especially where it comes to love.  Since he's been hurt in the past he's not created huge shields around his heart.

Alex Wells, has had to live his truth in secret being part of the army, but after tragedy and a loss he's finally back home.  Here he can heal physically and emotionally.  Plus he can finally meet the man who meant so much to his grandmother.

Alex already knows a lot about Tristan through his grandma, but the moment he sees him the flesh he knows he wants more.  Especially after seeing how he interacts with his friends and co-workers.  Tristan and everyone at the bar, girls included wants a piece of Alex, but the question is . . . is he gay or straight?

Thankfully Tristan quickly finds the truth to that question, but with his shields he's a bit skeptical when it comes to Alex and his army past.   Alex has his own wounds and not just emotional ones.  If you can't love yourself how will anyone love him with his leftover wounds?

"You're not broken.  You're scarred.  You carry your scars on your body.  I carry mine on the inside.  We're no different, Alex.  Can't you see that?"

If anyone can help him get through his emotional upheaval it's Tristan, but Tristan has his own demons to slay as well.

"You can't fuck me over, Alex.  If you're going to fall for me, do it like you mean it, because half-assed will never be enough."

One of the reasons I'm sad I didn't read the first two book in this series is because all of the other characters seem so intriguing and I wanted to know more.  Now, I guess I will have to read the whole series.  ;)

"Are you sure you and Tristan have dicks?  What is wrong with you?  So the guy loves you.  Who cares?  How does it change anything?  Focus, dude."

Now here comes the truth.  Did I like this book?  Yes, but I didn't love it.  What were things that I liked the most?  I liked the idea of the story with two strong alphas finding love and I'm always a fan of second chance books.  I liked all the characters, which has made me want to read more from this series.  What didn't I like about the book?  Even though these were two alpha men their story came across a bit schmaltzy at times, which didn't fit their characters.  Also Tristan's stubbornness at times got me frustrated especially since Alex's actions spoke so much louder than his words, but Tristan was to stuck to see the reality of the situation.  Even though the boys were schmaltzy at times, did I still like them?  Yes. Will I read more from this author and this series?  Yes.

3 . 5 Alpha loving thumbs up!

thumbs upthumbs upthumbs up . 5
