SACRIFICE OF THE PAWN (Surrender Games 1)

Surrender Games follows the emotionally charged and highly erotic contemporary romance saga, The Surrender Trilogy.

Isadora Patras has sacrificed years raising her younger siblings, Lucian and Antoinette. As her brother and sister grow more independent, she feels her purpose is lost. Aching to do something selfish and hungry for a taste of the forbidden, she takes a lover—her father’s protégé and trusted family friend, Sawyer Bishop.

In a secret affair trust is tested, respect is bartered, and reputations are on the line. Sawyer has always been Isadora’s mentor, but now it’s her move. She’s through being a pawn and ready to demand the respect of a Queen.

The Surrender Games Series should be read after The Surrender Trilogy.

My Surrender of the Pawn Review . . .

"I would have given everything for love.  But you'd rather have nothing."

It has felt like forever since I read the Surrender trilogy and so many elements were forgotten, which meant it took me a bit of time to get fully enraptured into the story.  But once my memory came back on board, I was all in.

The Surrender Trilogy is about Lucian Patras and this time around this series is about his older guardian sister Isadora.  Isadora never got the chance to be a kid, instead her circumstances made her older than she needed to be, which made it hard for her to fit in.   Her life was being a guardian to her younger siblings, which excluded her from her friends, whom were all dating and going to school.  Now she had nothing in common with her old friends.  But she's also to young to hang out with other parents of kids the same age as her siblings.

With her having no choice for this role it also caused Isadora to never truly find her self, which left her wanting more and settling for less.

The Surrender games starts before the Surrender trilogy but progresses and ends up finishing in the time line after the trilogy ends.   So we get to see what Isadora goes through for 13 years and 12 of those 13 years were kept in secret.  Now was that secret the best thing she ever did or the most heartbreaking?

"Did you ever read Dr. Seuss?"
What a strange question.  "Of course."
"Well, remember the Grinch, how his heart grew? I think that's more accurate than people realize.  Our hearts can love so many things, so many people.  It's naive to think the first time we fall in love will be the most epic love of our life.  It seems a waste of life to only love one person that deeply and never give your heart to anyone else. Stingy."
I can not wait to find out more from this Patras family and where Isadora's heart lands.

4 Love shouldn't be a secret thumbs up!
