A one-night stand with James Ryne, the hottest actress in LA, was a night I’d never forget…
James: I can’t stop thinking about you.
Brett: I didn’t know America’s sweetheart was such a dirty girl.
James: It gets better.
Brett: You’re too young for me.
James: Eighteen’s the age of consent.
Brett: The things I want to do to you right now…
James: Are you ever going to tell me who you really are?
Brett: The best you’ve ever had. That’s all you need to know.
James: When are you coming back to LA?
Brett: Next week—and you’d better not be wearing panties.
Brett: What the hell did I just watch?
James: Oh my God, Brett! It’s going viral!
James: My life is ruined. My career. My reputation.
James: Are you there?
James: Will you let me explain?
James: Brett?
Brett: Forget everything I said before. Forget us.
I tried to forget her…until she walked into my office, begging to get signed.

Blog Tour (5)
Excerpt:
Her body was leaning into mine, shivering from the air-conditioning vent blowing right above her. I pointed the air in the opposite direction, and my other hand went into her hair, pulling her face toward mine.
“A couple of miles,” I hissed against her lips, parting them for me.
The cranberry juice she’d mixed with her vodka tasted so fucking sweet on her tongue. If she gave me any more of it, I was going to shred her dress right here, dip my face between her legs, and lick her cunt.
Fuck, I couldn’t wait to taste that pussy and see if it was as sweet as the juice.
This driver needed to step on it.
I wasn’t a patient man.
As if she sensed that, she pulled back just a little, and I bit into her bottom lip, holding it, tugging it, before I said, “I’m going to fucking devour you.” Finally releasing her, I turned my attention to her neck, smelling, kissing, gnawing the skin that led to her ear.
“Oh my God,” she groaned, and she tried to slide her fingers through the slots between the buttons of my shirt.
She went lower, brushing back and forth across my cock, and that was when I shackled her wrists in my hand.
“Please,” she whined.
“You’re going to get it all fucking night; don’t you worry.”
We pulled into the front of my high-rise and came to a stop, and I opened the back door.
“I’ve got it, sir,” the driver said.
“I’m good,” I replied, sliding James into my arms and carrying her out.
The doorman didn’t greet me by name, a sign that he was new, but held the door open for us, and I took us through the lobby and into the elevator.
James’s tongue traced the outline of my ear as I pressed the button for my floor and settled us against the back wall.
“Make it hurry,” she breathed.
My thoughts were the same.
When we got to my floor, I rushed us down the short hallway and waved my fob over the reader. It clicked as it unlocked, and I brought us into the bedroom, setting James on her feet right by the bed.
I stood in front of her and said, “Turn around.”
I waited until her back faced me, and then I kissed across it while I lowered the zipper at the same time. She turned again when I was done, and she let the dress fall to the floor.
The only thing she wore now was the pair of black heels.
No bra, no panties.
I leaned back to admire her body. She had tits that were no bigger than my palms, nipples that were small and hard, and a bare pussy with the sweetest fucking clit at the top.
“Jesus Christ,” I moaned. She went to take the heels off, and I said, “Hell no. Keep them on.”
I looped my finger into the Windsor knot and pulled it loose. Before I had it off, James fisted both ends of my tie and used them to pull me toward her. The movement caused my lips to slam against hers, and the tie slithered down my chest, followed by the buttons from my shirt that she had torn apart.
She wanted my cock.
She was getting my tongue first.

My Signed Review . . .

When I first read the synopsis of this story I was like 'huh is Marni diving into the world of MM'? But then I quickly realized that James is a female in this story not a male.  And not only female but a very young female.

Lately in the realm of Marni Mann the stories have been darker and darker, so this was a surprise having such a light story in comparison to the others.  But that doesn't mean it wasn't still naughty. .  It's a sexy & sweet yet also a suspenseful May/December celebrity romance.

James is technically only 18, but she's a mature 18.  More mature than most heroines in the romance genre.   James is the 'IT' girl in Hollywood and getting over a recent public break up.   She's tried once to get over the break up with a rebound guy, but it didn't work.  However, the moment she sees the sexy Brett, she's up for another chance to have a rebound.

James and Brett chemistry is insane and they instantly heat up the sheets, but there is also more.   It was only supposed to be one night, but Brett couldn't let her go, even if she finds out the truth.  He knows she may not want him anymore.

As James, past mistakes come to the surface, so does Brett's truth and both are a different kind of explosive but the only way to make it through the storm is together.

"No.  I hired you to be in charge of my career, but you're not allowed to manage my heart, and it makes me furious that you would even try."
I loved James and Brett together.  I actually adored all the characters.  Especially Jame's manager, Jame's BFF and also Brett's business partners.  There is so much potential for more from any of these characters.   The chemistry between Brett and James was on fire, yet the sweetness of the story still gets through.

4 Age is only a number thumbs up!

My The Bitterroot Inn Review . . .

I have been so looking forward to Maisy's story.  Poor Maisy had a lot of hardship in her past so I was rooting for her to get her HEA, but I was surprised on whom she ended up with.

Maisy wants to fall in love but the last profession she wants him to be is a doctor.  So when she meets the new hunk Hunter, she is cautious but eventually gives in.  However, she was a bit too quick to assume on what he did so, when the shock of what he did for a living took its toll on Maisy, but she did have it coming unfortunately.

Throughout the series I have loved Maisy.   I loved her personality so I was a bit surprised from Maisy on some of her negative attributes.

~ And he'd tried to tell me, but I'd shut him out.~

This was the bane of the book for me.  Hunter tried MANY times to tell Maisy, but she denied him over and over and over again and then when the truth comes out.  Shocker she's upset he never told her before.  Grrrrr!

The things I did like about Maisy.  Was her sweet, forgiving persona.   And that everyone loved her.  Even though Hunter's secret was a bit predictable in this book I didn't see it coming from where we met Hunter in the previous books.

I have to admit Maisy's denying to hear the truth took quite a toll on me with this story, which was super upsetting, because I was so excited for this story and if it wasn't for that part it would have been a great story,  but this did affect my reading experience unfortunately.   Thankfully I adored this series so it was still great to complete the series with Maisy and Hunter.    Hunter is the perfect choice for Maisy and I loved them together.

3 . 5 Finally Maisy's HEA thumbs up!

We Were One By E. Reyes Release Blitz #giveaway #bookreview

Title:  We Were One (Looking Glass alternate POV)
Author: Elizabeth Reyes
Genre: NA/Romance suspense/Romantic thriller
Release Date:  January 29, 2018

The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death.
~Oscar Wilde~

Adoration is not profound enough a word to express the depth of my love for her. From the moment she walked into my life and set my heart and soul on fire, not a day’s gone by that she hasn’t plagued my every thought. We were each other’s completion. She was everything I wasn’t–the sigh to my roar, the virtue to my sin, the cure to my wounds.

We Were One.
Until the unthinkable happened.
That I’ve survived such a tragedy without having completely lost it, is a mystery in itself. But as my mind starts to blur the lines between reality and my delusional heart, I begin to question everything, including my sanity.
And then the real mystery begins . . .
Looking Glass #2
Nico’s story

As I usually did when I first arrived at the lake, I parked and lit up a smoke so I could stake the place out by myself for a little while first. I’d heard about and seen enough of the twins now to know they were getting popular with the boys. Not in a bad way, but from what Nolan told me, even the quieter seemingly shyer one of the two had just as many admirers as the more outgoing one. But I’d yet to, nor did I plan to, socialize with either—ever.
“Did it hurt?”
I should’ve known right then those deep blue eyes that close, coupled with that sweet voice, would be the end of me. It was one of the twins—but unlike most of the folk in town, I knew exactly which one—stood before me, staring at my arm curiously.
Trying not to get too sucked into her intoxicatingly playful eyes, I looked away from them as our eyes met and I glanced down at what she was staring at instead. I couldn’t help smirking. She was asking about my latest tattoo.
“A little,” I said, not making too much of it, then glanced back at her. Smiling at those curious eyes just couldn’t be helped, so I did as I continued to indulge. “But it’s the best kind of pain there is. The kind that hurts so good.”
I knew flirting with her was a risk, but I could see the way she was looking at me—the way most girls did when I took them in so unabashedly, making no secret of my dirty thoughts.
She was younger than most girls I normally hung out with. I figured a few more risqué comments from me might have her red as a beet and walking away as she should.
“That thing between your legs,” she said, making me stop mid-drag of my cigarette, and my brows jumped at attention. “It just keeps getting bigger.”
Coughing what little smoke I’d inhaled, I proceeded to make an ass of myself nearly choking then laughing until I was finally able to speak. “What?”

Part 2 of an ongoing series

My We Were One Review . . .

When I said yes to this book to review I didn't realize it was part 2 of a series and also the alternate POV of the Girl in the Mirror.  Once I realized this I quickly read the Girl in The Mirror and quite liked it.   But there is a downfall to reading the first one so soon before reading We Were One.  Because when reading We Were One I felt it very repetitive to the Girl in the Mirror.  However, I know if it had been months between I would have liked it much more as the repetitveness would have been refreshing to have the original story in the forefront.

However, I did like to get the story from Nico's POV.  Their love story was epic and strong, so it was nice to hear both point of views.  Plus we got to get the before story of Nico and Maddie.  But with both books because the secret is obviously the same,  I did feel a tiny bit let down with the secret.  I was expecting something much bigger so when the reason for the secret was revealed I was ' that's it?, that seems like a lot of work for just that.'  Thankfully the rest of the story was beautiful and good that it didn't effect me as much as it could have.

Anyone would be lucky to be loved by a Cortez boy and especially Nico.   Seeing the story through Nico's eyes was even more beautiful, because in the Girl in the Mirror we have more of the suspense going but with We Were One we get more of the love story and the angst Nico had to go through.

I am officially hooked on the Cortez boys and I can't wait for Nolan's story.

3 . 5 First love thumbs up!
