Let You Leave
(novella included in this special edition of Keep Me Still)

Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that will either bind them together or tear them apart.

Keep Me Still

Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.

Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls, but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her

My Review...

I first fell for Caisey's writing with her Kylie Ryan series so when I got the opportunity to read this book I jumped on it.

These two books are bit on the sugary sweet side but I was totally in the mood for that so I welcomed the blossoming love of Layla and Landen.

In Let You Leave we first meet poor Layla who has her own person tragedy and issues which causes her to be invisible to everyone.
Well until, Landen walks into her life and makes a point of getting to know Layla.  The more he gets to know her the more he learns about her demons at the same time letting her into his world as well.

With the blossoming of this potential relationship they let their guards down to the possibly of what if. Layla is ready to take their friendship to a relationship but all of a sudden Landen leaves causing Layla a huge void.
In Keep Me Still Layla has learned even more devastating news and builds up a wall to protect her vulnerable heart.  To move on she leaves the comfort of her hometown and starts fresh on her own at her university of choice.

While she is there she keeps secrets and starts to be seen.  She starts to gain friendships but also discovers that she is not as alone as she thought.

Landen never stop loving Layla and when he got the chance to try again he risked everything for this opportunity. With this came more secrets.
"I couldn't let things end the way they did. I needed you to know how I felt, and I knew once time passed and we both got over how things went down, there would still be that....that, thing between us. Those feelings. We weren't ready to be what we needed to be for each other in high school, or the universe wasn't ready for it. But universe be damned, because I'm done fighting the way I feel about you."

Once Layla gets over the shock she lets her heart open and starts to let Landen back in but she goes from idle to full throttle with this new relationship. I guess she was making up for lost time.

Together Landen and Layla grow their relationship and friendship with others but secrets always find their way to the surface and potentially destroy everything.

Layla was a bit stubborn and frustrating in this part as she too had her own secrets and couldn't see the beauty in Landen's choices instead she was stuck on woe is me and had quite the pity party.

Thank goodness for tough love and second chances.

I can NOT wait for to find out what happens with Layla and Landen in Hold us Close. Damn sneak peaks.

Sweet book with tragic realities but with a nice balance of heart warming support.
