Death comes in Armani. Salvation comes in leather.

Principessa to the Mancuso crime family, Alexandra knows a thing or two about living outside the bounds of the law. Suffocated by the future her father has laid out for her, she makes a choice she can't take back, changing the entire trajectory of her life.

Thrust into the dark and dangerous world of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club for her own protection, Alex finds herself faced with the last thing she needs right now: the man of her dreams. He’s sex in leather, the devil incarnate, and one hell of a kisser. But he’s also off-limits. Ryan Stone can be her friend, but he’s forbidden to be her lover.

Third-generation Forsaken, Ryan knows nothing other than life on two wheels, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He enjoys the many privileges that come with the patch, and the only laws he recognizes are the ones set-forth by his club. That is, until who he wants more than anything isn’t allowed on the back of his bike —or in his bed. Balancing his desire for her body, and need to keep her safe, Ryan tries to keep Alex at a distance. Finally having made a choice for herself, she’s done hearing the word “no” and will push boundaries even Ryan himself doesn’t dare cross.

Love is never more tempting than when it’s forbidden.

My Ride Review ...

Finally a series to get me almost out of my reading funk.  It was dark, crass, edgy and loving. How can it not be when you mix the mafia with the mob.

Poor Alexandra who is thrown in the middle of mess made by others choices.  She was first brought up being the Principessa of the Mancuso crime family which gave her no freedom then when she makes a bad choice herself, she's thrown right in the middle of the Forsaken MC club.  Here she has more freedom, but also heartache which leads to so much more good and bad times for her.

All Ryan has ever known is the way of life as a Forsaken, but once the club helps out his step mom and club president's wife to retrieve precious cargo his world instantly changes.

Ryan and Alexandra are instantly drawn together but with Alex's bad choice it causes Ryan to have to choose between love and the club.  With Ryan, his inner conflict is causing him to lash out at Alex repeatedly.   All this emotional drama is not enough for these two as they also have to also deal with the Mancuso family and tension within the MC.
"You think you don't love her, but you do.  You're just too fucking stupid to see it.  Now grow a fucking pair and stop hurting her."
I really did like this story as it was a refreshing dark love story within the MC world.  I needed a strong heroine and with Alex even though she was young, she was strong and knows what to fight for.   I was rooting for Ryan to get his head out of his ass the whole time.   Great story and can't wait to read more form this series.

Thrash (Bayonet Scars #2)

Loneliness suffocates the heart. Acceptance breaks down walls.

As a Lost Girl to the Forsaken Motorcycle Club, Nicole Whelan knows how to party. She’s not cut-out for relationships and her life is way too complicated for anything more than casual encounters. But one night when she falls into Duke’s bed at the clubhouse, he sees something in her that he can’t let go of—no matter how many times she tries to run.

Having been left to raise her teenage brother, Jeremy, she’s already got her hands full and isn’t looking for anymore complications. But Duke’s just watched his best friend fall for the only girl he couldn’t have, and then almost lose her so shortly after, shaking him to his core. Faced with his own loneliness, he’s more determined than ever to break down Nic’s walls and show her that he can be good for her; but he’s got a bad track record and she’s got a bad temper. Changing his ways isn’t easy when he’s not sure what he’s even changing for.

The violence and turmoil are at an all-time high, and Forsaken is in a vulnerable place when a twist of fate breathes new life into the club. It’s a much-needed beacon of hope for the embattled biker family, even if everyone’s not exactly on board. With Duke and Nic’s relationship already on shaky ground, and something even more important at stake, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club will fight like hell to keep their family together and whole.

Love is never more precious than when it’s new.

My Thrash Review ...

After reading Ride, I was so excited to start this book, but I wasn't sure if I was going to love Nicole or not.  Trash continues with all the drama of the Mancuso and the Forsaken, but with added of angst of Nicole's insecurities and her past.

Duke loves being a Forsaken but he has always had a soft spot for Nicole.  Since Nicole is one of the club's lost girls, Duke has been waiting for an opening for Nicole.  Once she walks through his door, he immediately claims her.  Nicole has always liked Duke but she is scared of getting hurt again.  On a weak moment she goes to Duke to only have her whole world turn around.

Nicole was a bitch for most of the book.  To help protect herself she projects bitch to keep her heart at bay but for Duke he knows Nic his future old lady so he waits it out until Nic gives up her bitch and gives him his heart.  Don't get me wrong Duke makes some grade A asshole mistakes on his journey to win Nic's heart.

I'm so curious how this series is going to play out with all the drama outside and within the club.  For me so far this was my least favorite of the series because of my reading funk Nicole's insecurities and bitchiness drove me batty.  I loved Duke and I friggin' adore this series but Nicole's issues were to repetitive thankfully Duke was there to save the day and prove to Nicole that she is loved truly, and will always be part of this MC world.

Everyone belongs somewhere. Even the misfits.

With the looming threat from the Mancuso Crime Family, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club is preparing for a war that could destroy them. Grady, the club’s Sergeant-at-Arms, knows that love makes you weak, and he has zero interest in adding to his liabilities– especially now. He’s already got his teenage daughter who keeps him on his toes and a beef within the club that could fracture his relationship with a fellow brother for good.

For Holly Mercer, her life is finally getting on track and the last thing she wants is trouble from her hometown’s resident outlaws. Keeping her nose clean is easier said than done, when suddenly she finds herself embroiled in club business. Holly might like the idea of being with a real-life bad boy, but even being in the same room with tough-as-nails Grady flusters her.

When Holly inadvertently finds herself on Mancuso’s radar, she has two choices: trust that Grady will protect her, or continue to refuse the club’s help. Both roads are dangerous, but only one has the chance to damage her beyond repair.

Love is never more dangerous than when it can destroy you.

My Rev Review ...

Oh! Stubborn Grady.  For Grady he feels the Forsaken are falling apart and it is causing him to lose his shit after the death of his best friend.  Thankfully the one thing he has is his daughter to keep him level but when shit starts to hit the fan with the club he gives his daughter a too long of leash.   Because of this new freedom for his daughter, the new administrator Holly, at his daughter's high school is becoming a thorn at his side.

For Holly, she's trying to make better choices with her life. So she takes her job seriously so when Cheyenne's father is ignoring her she makes it her business to get involved so Cheyenne gets the best care properly.   However, when she chose to get involved she didn't mean to land smack in the middle of a war between the Forsaken and the Mancuso crime family.

Holly wants nothing to do with this bullshit but is drawn to Grady, while at the same time Holly is getting under Grady's skin with her feisty attitude.  The more Holly gets tangled into this mess the more their hearts get involved into this tangled mess.

After losing his best friend, Grady doesn't want leave too many behind in this dangerous world but Holly digs her way in their for keeps.  Holly is the most unlikely person you would expect for Grady but they work.

I did love this book but it is not for the faintest heart as there are some very graphic, hard scenes to read.  There is a warning at the beginning of the book that you kind of forget about until you get to a part that viscerally guts you with the pure evil of it.  This warning is for a reason so be prepared.

Gah! The drama keeps getting better and better. Thank you J.C. Emery.  With each book I get more anxious to see how it all plays out.
