Decades of trust and loyalty build a deep and abiding friendship —until Andrew suffers a tragedy. Caleb moves in with him, and the parameters of their unique relationship blur.

Wrestling with feelings he can’t articulate, Andrew spirals into self-loathing. Caleb struggles to help his friend heal, but he longs for more than Andrew can give him. After so many years, neither man knows how to break out of his established role. After all, boyfriends come and go, but best friends are forever.

My The One Who Saves Me Review . . .

This audio book started as a solid 4 for me as I adore the Narrator, Alexander Collins and I adored the idea of the story but by the end I started to get frustrated with Caleb and Andrew and how it took them over a decade to figure out what they meant for each other.

I loved the set up of the book with each chapter starting as a year of their friendship so we got to see the evolution of these two separately and together.   But by the end I didn't understand how they couldn't see what everyone else saw between them.  Yes, I'm aware they are fictional characters so its hard for them to see these things since they aren't technically real but come one over a DECADE????

If they would have figured out the obvious sooner the story would have changed for me for the better but even still I did still adore this story.  I'm such a huge fan of Cardeno C. and every book so far that I have either read or listened to I have liked.

Cardeno has a knack at  a) picking great narrators and b) writing beautiful stories.   In this book, I loved the evolution of their relationship from friends, to friends with benefits, to lovers, to partners.  The way the story was set up we got to go along for the ride between these two helping us fall in love with them just as easy, which was also the reason I got frustrated because I wanted them to see it as well.

3 Friends to finally Partners thumbs up!

thumbs upthumbs upthumbs up
